Synopsis
Soon after a mysterious stranger appears in Hollendell, Riley Benson’s best friend goes missing, prompting an unlikely band of classmates to investigate. What they uncover thrusts them into perilous new lands, and reveals a Benson family secret Riley was unaware of. The new alliance of friends must depend on their resourcefulness, bravery, and one another to locate their missing friend and attempt to and escape alive.
Overview
The Black Beast of Hollendell is a novel and years long endeavor I undertook as a present to my daughter. After many starts and stops, I have dedicated myself to its completion. It is the second episode in a series about members of the Benson family and how one boy’s discovery changed his family and friends forever. The prequel to The Black Beast of Hollendell, The Lands of Nizarat, follows our protagonist’s grandfather, Arthur, as he and a friend uncover a secret and ancient world.
In this world, they forge new friendships only to be swept up in danger as the enemies of their new friends attack, forcing the two boys to make several harrowing decisions. In The Black Beast of Hollendell, the repercussions of those decisions have finally caught up to Arthur and threaten his family in Hollendell. These stories have been unfolding for many years, and I, for one, am excited to see where they go next.
